Turkish Water Institute (SUEN), as the Coordination Office of the Blue Peace in the Middle East, organized an online training course on “Modern Approaches to Improving Irrigation Water Use Efficiency” for the benefit of irrigation experts from Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Turkey on 17-19 November 2020.

The online training course covered the following topics:

• Crop soil water interactions and scheduling
• Modern irrigation technologies and practices: surface, sprinkler, and drip irrigation
• The challenges of managing large-scale irrigation schemes
• Participatory irrigation
• Developing capacity to plan, design, and manage future irrigation systems

Representatives of participated countries also made presentations on irrigation management as well as shared experiences and good practices of their countries on mentioned topic.
